Talk:Main Page
From Wiki
Unfold says: Never used a wiki before so forgive me my mistakes. Howare we going to organise this wiki? Im going to have a look at reprap wiki and arduino wiki, first thoughts: -One section should be notes on the manual, maybe use the steps from the manual en add our notes? -The tony posts in the blog should go here
Thats it for the moment
Any ideas how we can display an image, does upload need to be enabled on the server?... update- images now work on the wiki
how/what/why
Check out the manual for the wiki .. it is there on the main page .. on how to "organise" a page ..
on "how to organize the whole wiki" ... I created bunch of "blank" pages where some data need to be set .. I made page about PP would be cool if you or tony can make similar for ABS or HDPE / LDPE .. I do not have ABS to try any more and HDPE is giving me troubles so still no "good setup" for it ... when we have enough pages with content - we can remove the "list" from the main page and start making some organisation .. in real life - it is just a list of links on the main page with some text - pages generally link each other if you write them properly (use [ [ keyword ] ] everywhere)
about pictures .. yes - Iain (when he can) will have to enable upload as wiki does not allow you to display pictures hosted on another server (let's say picassa) - at least not by default. there might be some plugin for wikimedia for that - but I failed to find one :( ... donno how much space is there on the host so that might be complicated ..
UPLOAD WORKS, EXTERNAL IMAGES WORK
Upload of images work but what is more important, in order not to overdrive the hosting of the wiki, the external images are available too... in order to display external image just write the url of that image (without any tags pre/after it ...) ... if not clear, check the source of this page :)
here is the external image:
